Rain
By LittleMissDifferent
He loves the rain. Absolutely loves it. The others don't share this feeling. To them, rain means fast-flowing water and taking longer routes in the sewers. It means not having a clear view of anything, extra noise, and coming home soaked and shivering.
Mikey sees things a little differently. If they’re going out when it’s raining, he is instantly excited and exudes more energy than usual. He feels the life in each raindrop, hears the music as they land. He deeply inhales the sweet scent of the rainy air; nothing in the world compares to that smell. Mikey even relishes in the feeling of the water hitting his skin as they leap across rooftops.
Leo watches his little brother. He sees what rain does to him. Though it seems impossible, his eyes shine brighter than usual. And, even though Leo can practically see the energy radiating off of Mikey’s skin, he often finds his little brother rooted to one spot—a rare occurrence—staring out at the skyline.
Leo begins to see the beauty in the rain, too.

i'm sick
i knew infectious diseases to have statistics, medication and survival rates
not quaky lungs, thick eyelashes and calloused fingers
i expected a rash or a popped blood vessel or abdominal pain
but i got bumper car thoughts and feelings with spikes
i did get trouble breathing, a headache and sore feet
but i think that's from holding my breath, following untamed solutions and chasing after you again
i also got pain
and i reckon this kind is out of morphine's expertise
but i don't know if that's a symptom
or a long term side effect from all the ways i tried to save you
maybe the statistics are all the times i mistook you as a cure
and all the t

I can still hear your voice as you shattered my everything

A part of my world died the last day you sang to me
For you sang it nice and slow, just above a whisper on your breath
And in a slow sigh, you said to me, 'Remember me...'
'In twenty years from now, remember me
On your wedding day, won't you remember me?
For your birthday and each holiday,
I'll grant your every wish
Always and always'
I only ever had one wish...
But your skin was sallow and your lips cold as you kissed my cheek
Then you cl

I got reeeeaaallllly bored in zoology 115 today. So I gave up on notes, put my headphones in, and scribbled this little drabble down. Not a bad way to spend an otherwise useless class period, in my opinion.
Disclaimer: Dudes, I don't own the turtles. The supremely awesome Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird do.
